Carnoustie

Carnoustie is the youngest town in Angus, at just over 200 years old.

Carnoustie is world famous for its golf, and has hosted The Open Championship 8 times on the Championship links course.

There is more to Carnoustie than golf. Take a walk along the sandy beach or follow the coastal path from Carnoustie to Arbroath and explore the coastline of Angus. This seaside town is also steeped in history and heritage waiting to be discovered.

Visit the 19th century Barry Mill, one of the few remaining working water mills left in Scotland. Once the heart of a beating community, the mill provided food and jobs for people for over 800 years.

Venture north of Carnoustie to the village of East Haven, one of the earliest recorded fishing communities in Scotland, which has achieved a Beautiful Scotland Gold Award for its charming flower displays.

View the Carnoustie webcam which shows views across the 18th hole of the Championship Golf Course.
