Angus has a colourful and dramatic history, and it is here to be explored. There are many historic sites and buildings to visit - from Arbroath Abbey, site of the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath in 1320, to JM Barrie's birthplace in Kirriemuir.
Angus is also home to a number of great house and castles, some of which were once ancient family homes and some of which still are, such as Glamis Castle - home to the Earls of Strathmore since 1372.
