Scotland's Garden Scheme - Melgund Castle

In 2007 a drystone wall was also built. The new garden within is laid out in an interpretation of the medieval style.
Raised beds and exedra contain a profusion of unusual culinary and medicinal herbs. Old roses and flowers of the medieval period surround the central herber. A rowan arch leads to an orchard of mostly historic fruit cultivars in a flowery mead.
A pretty walk takes you alongside a burn and through indigenous meadows and specimen trees.
